Why I’m Done With The Hustle

There are a lot of entrepreneurs promoting ‘hustle’ these days as if work ethic were a new thing, and for the last 2 years I’ve been preaching it as well. Most people DO lack the work ethic and resiliency to succeed as entrepreneurs, but hustle alone doesn’t create value.

For those of you that know me, you know I can grind and hustle for 18 hours a day until I get things done, but those days are gone for me. Here’s why. Read more

4 – Opportunity or Distraction? How To Know The Difference.

“If you’re hustling, good shit will happen. Period.”Gary Vaynerchuk

This week started out pretty crazy. I got to my desk on Monday, and after taking care of my priorities, I opened my email to find a message from a reality TV production company. They’re working on a reality business show and they’re looking for a consultant on their show. After finding my NotADreamer.com blog on Twitter, they reached out asking to connect. Being as I’m not in the industry, I was at first pretty skeptical. But the message was specifically directed to me, and it seemed she had actually read my stuff and watched a few of my videos. 3 – Your Greatest Asset and Increasing Your Value

Something about families spending an entire day together, having amazing carne asada by the lake, and waiting anxiously for the firework show to start, makes the 4th of July one of my favorite holidays. 318+ million people are fortunate enough to live in the US and experience such amazing freedom, freedom that was once only a dream, a thought, a desire.

I personally took some time to relax, reflect and re-energize this 4th of July at Lake Arrowhead, CA. Which brings me to my weeks biggest lessons as an entrepreneur. Enjoy! Read more

Not A Dreamer Entrepreneur Weekly Recap #2.

I skipped last weeks post. I thought it was with good reason, but as I always say, you’re either making excuses or making it happen. You can’t do both. When you’re absolutely committed to something, you do whatever it takes and make ZERO excuses. It’s tough, especially when you have a million other things going on, and when there’s no pressure to get it done. When no one is watching is when your integrity is tested. Read more

1 – Shut up, Listen, then Hustle.

Weekly Lessons Recap #1, here we go! I’ll keep these short, sweet and to the point.

The Power of Listening

I’ve always been very outspoken and opinionated. My dad told me if I wanted to be wise, “stay quiet and learn.” I hated that. I felt like I had too much to say, too many things and ideas I wanted to move forward, I just had to speak up. Although there’s a time and place for doing so, more often than not, as striving entrepreneurs we simply talk too much. In doing so, we delay our goals and turn off people that could help us grow.

“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.” – Proverbs 18:2

3 Secrets Of Goal Setting

I want to share how I set goals, and what I’ve learned about them that leads me to actually accomplish them. First lets look at the two schools of thought when it comes to setting goals.

  1. Set realistic goals and achieve them, you’ll feel better when you succeed.
  2. Set super high goals and even if you don’t hit them, you’ll get a lot further.

I disagree with both, Read more
